Peter J. Kowal

Mr. Kowal is a Canadian citizen, who earned his Bachelor's degree from St. Thomas University, in Miami, FL. Upon graduation in 1987, he began his business career in a sales and marketing capacity for Carnival Cruise Lines, in Canada.

In 1991, he inaugurated his career in franchising by accepting the role of Vice President and General Manager for Cruise Holidays International, a 209-unit franchise system headquartered in San Diego, CA. Mr. Kowal eventually assumed the role of President, focusing his strategic thinking talents on all aspects of the franchise business.

In 1999, he accepted the position of President for a start-up; .COM, technology based, franchise system (ByeByeNOW.com) consisting of 266-franchised locations (through acquisition). Upon the sale of the franchise system to one of our nation's largest franchisers (Carlson Companies), Mr. Kowal agreed to launch a new division within a $4.4 billion annual gross sales company (World Travel Partners), as Senior Vice President and General Manager.

In 2004, Mr. Kowal launched his own company, ifsSolutions. The company's primary focal point was on assisting start up, and/or emerging franchise companies in developing every aspect of their franchise system, with a keen focus on franchise development. Since inception, Mr. Kowal has had the privilege of working directly with over 40-franchise companies ranging in size from start-ups to 900+ units, and in industries as diverse as; food, fitness, technology, expense reduction, service, business consulting, decorating, employment, fashion retail, and hair care.

After working with Sport Clips International for over a year as a business coach and consultant, Sport Clip's Founder – Mr. Gordon Logan offered Mr. Kowal and Mr. Schiffner the opportunity to open the Canadian market as Sport Clips' first Master Franchisee in 2012.

Mark R. Schiffner

Mr. Schiffner started his career in Franchising in 1986 as a partner and chief operating officer, in a franchise brokerage business located in Western Canada. The brokerage helped develop many regional franchise businesses, including Panago Pizza from start-up to 85 locations by 1989 (then known as Panagopolus Pizza). In 1989, Mr. Schiffner and his business partners purchased the Canadian Master Agreement for Cruise Holidays. Between 1989 and 2001, they expanded Cruise Holidays to 52-locations, accounting for more than $65M in gross sales. In 2001, Mr. Schiffner accepted a position as Director of Franchise Development with the Carlson Travel Franchise Group in Minneapolis, MN. In 2004, Mr. Schiffner developed and launched SeaMaster Cruises, a new brand for the Carlson Travel Franchise Group. Since 2009, Mr. Schiffner has served as Chief Operating Officer of Cruise Holidays International, (which includes SeaMaster Cruises) based in Minneapolis, MN. Since that time, Cruise Holidays International has expanded from operations in Canada and the US to now include Cruise Holidays, UK and Cruise Holidays, Australia.

Sport Clips International is headquartered in Georgetown, Texas and was established in 1995 by founder and CEO Mr. Gordon Logan. The sports-themed salon franchise, which specializes in hair care for men and boys, ranks in Entrepreneur Magazine's top 20 "fastest growing franchises" and in the top 100 in the "Franchise 500," and in the top 10 in Forbes' "Top 20 Franchises To Start." Sport Clips is the "Official Haircutter" of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, offers Canadian veterans preferential pricing on haircuts and franchises, and was named in the "50 Top Franchises for Military Veterans" ranking by World Franchising.
